Exercise is hard – especially at first. Forward progress begins when we recognize the need to take a step — and then actually take it. Many people desire to be fit. Far fewer are willing to take the necessary steps. Desire gets us going. Discipline keeps us going.
So where do we start? Start small, but stay consistent. Big oak trees begin as small seeds. We don’t need the perfect workout plan — we need momentum. A 20-minute walk. A simple strength routine. A measurable goal like completing a 5K or increasing resistance training. Consistency beats intensity every time. In six weeks, we can have six weeks of progress — or six weeks of excuses. We can’t have both. And as believers, we pursue fitness for a higher purpose. Our bodies are gifts to steward (1 Corinthians 10:31). Health is not about appearance; it’s about building strength and endurance to serve God and others well. Discipline in the body often strengthens discipline in the soul. Finally, we cannot ignore nutrition. We cannot out-exercise a poor diet. Drink water. Limit processed sugar. Eat real food. Sleep well — that’s when our bodies rebuild. Food is fuel, not comfort or escape. Fitness is not about perfection. It’s about stacking small, faithful decisions over time. We don’t take leaps to thrive. We take steps. Check out the podcast episode explaining these steps in more detail HERE Stay awesome, stay on the narrow path, taking steps to thrive for God’s glory.
